Ingredients

1 (19 oz.) can garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 1/2 tbsps chopped fresh cilantro

1 tsp dried parsley

1/8 tsp ground turmeric

1/2 tsp baking powder

1 C. fine dry bread crumbs

3/4 tsp salt

1/4 tsp cracked black peppercorns

1 quart vegetable oil for frying
